featuring guest artist, Beth Galston of Boston

Artists never know where they might get their inspiration. For Boston environmental sculptor Beth Galston, it was on the airplane ride to Wichita Falls, when she was introduced to North Texas’ severe weather. (excerpt from Lana Sweeten-Shults, Times and Record News)

The day of her arrival, a severe thunderstorm slammed Wichita Falls.

“That definitely influenced Beth,” said Jim Henson, the director of ArtFest09, a visual arts camp for Wichita Falls Independent School District junior high and high school students.  Her experience was translated into a weather-inspired installation at the Wichita Falls Museum of Art at Midwestern State University.
